Garden update June 27th 2018
Summer is officially here and the garden is well on its way. Today we are going to take you on a quick (ish) tour of how things are progressing in the garden. In the next few days we will hi-light each section and go more in depth in regards to varieties. This is going to be a picture heavy post so sit back and enjoy. The island garden as you may recall is a first for us this year. In here we have planted (amongst the weeds) watermelon 🍉 white pumpkin 🎃, butter nut squash and spaghetti squash. The soil is a bit hard and lacking in nutrients so growing isn't progressing as quick as we would have hoped. However, nothing has died yet so there's hope! We also have two crabapple trees, two rhubarb plants and asparagus in this section. The asparagus had a rough year and the crabapple trees never bloomed. It has been a strange growing year for sure. Let move onto what we call the main garden. This garden is just over 3000 sq ft and contains the majority of our crop. Chi...
